Abstract

In the talk we are focused on the class of boundary--value problems that involves the incompressibility condition $div\,u=0$. Such type conditions often arise in the models of continuum media, e.g. in the theory of fluids. The main purpose is to present new computable upper bounds of the energy norm of the difference between the exact solution and an approximation, which are valid for any function from the admissible functional class. Such estimates are derived by analyzing only the differential problem and can be also called functional type a posteriori error estimates. As an example, we consider the classical Stokes problem and some other models in the theory of NonNewtonian viscous fluids.
